North Star Research Limited is a UK-based advisory firm led by Gregor Pecnik, focused on climate, natural capital, and conservation finance.

Conservation Note
Conservation Note is a practical, non-offset stewardship finance mechanism being developed to support threatened working landscapes, starting with shea parklands in Northern Ghana.
The concept is designed to channel finance toward local land stewards through parcel-linked, time-bound stewardship commitments. These commitments may include:
avoiding land conversion
protecting existing trees
managing fire risk
supporting basic land stewardship
Conservation Note is intended to provide a conservative and auditable way to support nature protection in landscapes that are often overlooked by existing conservation finance tools.
It is not designed as a carbon offset, biodiversity credit, or land ownership claim. The focus is on credible stewardship support and practical conservation finance.

Gregor Pecnik has more than 19 years of experience advising corporates and institutions on sustainability, carbon management, natural capital, and environmental strategy.
